I was intrigued by your question as to where the money is for adoptions and sales, so I called Mr. Bolstad to ask that very question. I am informed the funding for adoptions is used to transport horses and burros to adoption events throughout the US...and that with diesel fuel at $5 or more per gallon in many parts of the country, the fund has been exhausted. Very few sales of horses or burros have occurred this year and so there has been almost no funding generated through that source.
